Gettings started with noeia ideas

When you first start with noeia ideas, you may wish to either load some demo data, or load a small starter kit, which includes a few projects, lists, boards, and idea items. This might be faster than trying to build a system from the ground up. If you want to start from the ground up, then you should first create a board, create and attach a project to that board, and then add items. Finally you can create lists. We recommend using the starter kit at first.

Load the starter kit

If you already have data in noeia ideas on another device, then you should not load the starter kit now, but rather turn on synchronization on the other device, and after a short wait, select “sync your existing data” on this device.

You can also click on the title of any board or list to access a side menu of lists or boards, where you can edit, reorder, create, or delete a list or board.

Organizing your ideas with boards

Project boards are a way of organizing one ore more projects as a visual board, with columns and lanes. You can reorganize ideas by dragging them between columns or even between projects. If you project lanes are too tall, you can collapse them using a collapse button on the to right of every lane.

You must then assign one or more projects to the board from the projects menu, which you can access with the project menu icon or the button on the new board:

You can add a project from the Quick Menu, or from the projects list when you hit the projects icon.

You need at least one project to add ideas to your noeia app. The default project is the project which will be used when creating new ideas out of a project context.

Projects can have custom columns, which you can use to create custom boards.

Both lists and board have a filter/visibility dialog, which you can access with eye icon.

If a filter is set, the eye-icon turns yellow.
If a column filter is set, a small yellow dot appears.

Filtering projects in lists and boards

Filtering projects is slightly different in boards and in lists.
In both of them, you open the projects menu, and make selections.

  1. In boards, you assign one or several projects to a board. This is a fixed part of the board itself, and is not part of the saved filters.
  2. In lists, all projects are shown, unless you choose some. Creating useful lists is almost always a combination of sort orders and filters.
